Gary is a perfectionist (which is why he does not have a crew), and does not take short-cuts to complete a task – in this way, he reminds me a little of Mike Holmes from the show Holmes on Holmes. He even took time to demonstrate techniques so that we could do some things on our own, and told us what to look for when buying certain products (e.g. our new ceiling fan).
